Marina Ibiza´s successfull closing act of the "Royal Cup Marina Ibiza", one of the best races in recent years for the 52 Super series.

Marina Ibiza has ended the "Royal Cup Marina Ibiza" that took place in Ibiza waters since last Tuesday the 2nd until Saturday the 6th of July. The event was a success in terms of organization and competition, and has left such a good taste to the 8 owners of the TP52 and the 5 owners of the Soto 40 together with the more of 200 sailors that took part in this competition have defined it as one of the best races that they have participated in recent years.

“Quantum”, from the American Ed Bird, was the winner in its category of the Royal Cup Marina Ibiza which was the boat that better adapted to the difficult course of the island with days of very little wind and roles. In spite of this, there was sufficient intensity to continue each round every day up to the nine that were held off the coast of Ibiza.

Of the Soto 40, the big winner was Luis Martin Cabiedes of “Vamos Spain”. This category competed from 3-6 of July and like the TP 52s, they also had very complicated and competitive days. 5 Participants have given the best of themselves to the point that the winner of each round was a different boat every time.

The decision of the shipowners to choose Marina Ibiza as part of the 52 SUPER SERIES circuit has been a total success. All participants were highly satisfied with the quality and service of the facilities from
Marina Ibiza and are willing to return in 2014. Currently the calendar of the international circuit is shutting down and the new dates for the next event, which will be known in a few days, will include a return to Ibiza territory with more enthusiasm if possible.

Agustín Zulueta, general director of the 52 SUPER SERIES, has been optimistic about the future participation with Marina Ibiza and the island in general, highlighting the good weather, great atmosphere, the highly touristic offer and the professionalism and kindness shown by the port during this event.

If the negotiations come to a success, the Royal Cup Marina Ibiza 2014 will be the race to keep in mind for next season.
